About the Surgery

Our History
Waterfield House Surgery is named in honour of Dr. Peter Waterfield, who dedicated many years to caring for the Pembury community, following in the footsteps of his aunt, Dr. Dorrit Waterfield. Both served patients from 40 Lower Green Road, Pembury, for several years.
In 1989, Waterfield House Surgery opened its doors at the Henwood Green Road site. To enhance patient care and staff facilities, a second-floor extension was added in 2000, providing an improved treatment room and a fourth consulting room.
In 2023, we digitised our Lloyd George records (patient’s paper records) , allowing us to repurpose the former dispensary and scanning rooms into additional consultation spaces.
Today, Waterfield House Surgery is proud to be a Training Practice, hosting trainee GPs and nurses who work under the supervision of experienced, qualified trainers. This commitment ensures the highest standards of care for our patients while supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Waterfield House Surgery is also part of the Tunbridge Wells Primary Care Network (PCN) - a group of local GP practices and healthcare providers working together to deliver more integrated and accessible services for our community.

Care Quality Commission
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) makes sure hospitals, care homes, dental and GP surgeries, and all other care services in England provide people with safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care and encourages them to make improvements where possible.
Our overall CQC Rating was: GOOD
Patient Participation Group (PPG)
The Practice strives to provide excellent healthcare. We welcome constructive feedback and suggestions to help shape our services to serve the needs of all of our patients. Our Patient Participation Group (PPG) meets at the practice to provide a forum for discussion about the practice.
