From 19th January – Changes to How You Can Get Treatment for UTIs

Women aged 16–64 with a suspected UTI should go to a community pharmacy first if:

  • If you have had no more than 2 suspected UTIs in 6 months or 3 in 12 months
  • You have no medical complications

  • Pharmacists can assess and treat uncomplicated UTIs, quickly.
  • If needed, the pharmacy will send a referral to your GP

You can’t use pharmacy first if you are:
